Blogging is About Sharing

shareUnlike a diary or a journal meant for no one else’s eyes but ourselves, a blog is written to share our thoughts, ideas, and emotions.

However, with this sharing, we end up opening ourselves to the world.  We are exposing a part of ourselves, and I, for one, could not help but feel vulnerable about it.

If there is something that is holding me back about writing my thoughts and ideas and putting them out for the public is that fear of being judged. I fear that what I am writing would put a label on myself, and would in a way cast me in a negative light.

I have never been that comfortable about stepping up and stepping out into the world.

This is probably why, I usually end up just “re-blogging” things, rather than craft something of my own.  I would rather share something that others made, which I found interesting or amusing, and share it to other people, rather than me, making something and sharing that thing, instead.

However, for us to grow, for us to improve, we have to step out of our comfort zones and experience new things.

I hope you all have a nice day.

Why I am Returning To Blogging (and you should, too!)

5 Reasons for Blogging.

I haven’t written any decent blog post in years.  Micro-blogging platforms like Twitter and Tumblr, among others has made us lazy when it comes to crafting well-thought out posts. Likewise, it also made us lazy in reading. The TL:DR (too long, didn’t read) culture of the web, our too limited time and our short attention span made us fearful of large walls of text.

Yet, write me must.

Writing as a form of human expression is vital. While I do applaud people who could sum up their thoughts and wits in a few hundred characters and at the sam time make us think or laugh in a short span of time, there are instances when more characters, and more words are needed to expound on an idea.

Here are my five reasons for writing blogs, and which I believe can be your reason for writing, as well. Continue reading “Why I am Returning To Blogging (and you should, too!)”

Is there a problem with the Facebook Publicize?

I’ve noticed for a few times that I have posted here that despite my Publicize settings to Facebook was properly set, and that previously, all of my posts are immediately posted to Facebook once I hit that Publish button, my recent posts are not appearing to my Facebook page.

It is frustrating.

I do not know what went wrong, or if I had missed a new set-up that is needed.  My mind is a blank.

I often find myself asking whether a post will be updated to Facebook.

What about you? Do you link your Facebook account to WordPress? And if so, does it publish immediately, or have you experienced troubles as well?

Any comment on this matter would be appreciated.

Edit: Yeah… It did not link with Facebook. Seriously, what in the world is going on here?!

Hmm… Interesting…

I haven’t been on WordPress in a while.  I find the new look interesting.  It looks fresh, and seemingly easy to navigate. Plus, I do like seeing the blogs I follow immediately greet me as I log-in, rather than the freshly-pressed ones. I also like how they are generally presented.

I wonder if I’ll be able to post stuff here, or keep it idle and just lurk in other blogs. Well, either way, if I do have content worth posting, I’ll definitely post.

See you around.

Eyeshield 21 Ep 6 – Recovering from Pain

Image

Eyeshield 21, an amateur at American Football, yet a person with a great talent in speed suffered his first tackle.  It was a rather painful one.  It most likely damaged not only his physical body, but also caused some emotional scars.

We have a natural avoidance for pain. (Unless you’re a masochist who prefers to receive pain…) Such is observed when we accidentally touch a hot object and we react with reflex by pulling it away. Once pain is experienced, we would rather not have to go through it again.

I can imagine the fear of possibly going through another painful experience. And that could affect us mentally, which would then affect us physically.  We tend to be more careful, and try to take lesser risks that could result to the pain.

How would Sena react to this turn of events? He’d rise to the challenge, of course!

We fail, we fall, but we must stand up and rise again.  What does not kill us makes us stronger.  Once we overcome that fear of experiencing pain again, we become braver.

I find it timely that I try blogging here again with this episode.  After my previous post, I felt that I should try again. Hey, no pain, no gain, right?

Rise again

In mistakes, we learn.

I tried writing an anime blog, and yet as time went by, and as my ability to watch new or good series took a toll from my work, I feel that I have failed.

It is a bit frustrating, but it made me think that it is not about  being perfect and awesome all the time that we can grow – but rather it is in the mistakes we make.  We learn from mistakes, and it makes us stronger.

My hesitation is often my downfall.

Well, I hope I can figure something out with this public blogging issue.  I do like writing, and I do want people to read what I write.

I will try again.

How do I do this?

It has been one of my numerous questions when it comes to blogging about anime, or aniblogging – How the heck do I do this?

Image from http://annekejong.blogspot.com/

I have the tendency to watch anime episodes continuously.  I like watching them in a marathon.  It sort of helps me understand the story, and also it feeds my thirst to finish the story as soon as possible.  You know how great series are – you can’t wait to get to the next episode.

Now, here is one of my problems.  Continue reading “How do I do this?”

Posting Consistency in Blogs

Hey, everyone, how are things?

I’ve been reading up on a few things on how to improve blog posts, and one of the things I have noted is this time consistency thing.  In this post by Joey Strawn, How your audience is like the Mogwai,  he mentioned how timing is important in building an audience.  (“Do not feed them after midnight“).

However, on my part, when it comes to this consistency thing, I fail at it.

I don’t post everyday. Well, I try, but fail at it. Some days I post, some I don’t.

I post at random times. Since most of you guys are active at night, I should probably post at around 8:00AM here – which is around 7 or 8 PM over there in the US. But, I don’t have post ideas at that time soon enough. At the worst case scenario when I am able to post, it would be at around 3PM(3AM), where most – if not all of you, are sleeping already.

I post at random days. Like I said, not only do I not post everyday, should I be able to post, it would be at a random day, highly unpredictable by you guys. So, even though I do manage to make a post – or make an awesome one, it is highly possible that either it does not get read at all, if not read by only a handful.

I hope I can remedy this. What about you? Are you consistent with your posts, or are you like me, where you just fire away when ready? See you around.
