2021 – Optimistic or Pessimistic?

2020 has been one hell of a ride.

It seems just yesterday when we were all celebrating the start of a new year. How naive we were, eh?

Which got me thinking… What can we look forward to in 2021? Will next year be better? Or will it be a continuation of the horror story that is entitled 2020.

Personally, I am hoping that it will be better.

I am always hoping that the future will be better than the present.

Does it mean I am much too optimistic and naive? Probably, but nothing will come from hiding my head in a hole and shaking in my boots. I’m scared and anxious already. I might as well try to be positive, eh?

The key word here is “try.” I mean it’s hard to be optimistic. The global pandemic seems to still be in full swing. Fortunate for our city that we seem to be in a somewhat safe zone. There are little to no new cases reported, and people are becoming complacent and relaxed. I hear there’s a vaccine coming in, but how that is going to be applied to a poor Asian country is beyond me.

In any case, yeah, optimism despite the fear and anxiety.

I sincerely hope and wish that we have a much better 2021.

2020 may still have a few weeks left – heck, we still have Christmas to celebrate, but I can’t wait for it to be over.
