In my previous post, I lamented the way Paypal won’t give me my money. I did mention there that I was still waiting for the response from their customer service, and I got my reply from them today (October 17, 2019).
Their message lifted my fears, and showed me how I could possibly withdraw my money from paypal.
What I learned from their customer service response was what I experienced was a bug.
To get my money from paypal, which was in US Dollars, I had to first convert them into my local currency.
To convert Paypal Balance to Another Currency:
- Click Wallet at the top of the page.
- Click the menu icon next to the currency balance you want to convert funds from.
- Select the currency you want to convert funds to.
- Enter the amount you want to exchange.
- Click Next.
- Click Convert Now to complete the currency conversion.
After successfully converting the foreign currency to my local currency, I was then able to withdraw my paypal funds to my bank account.
Well, I was relieved. What I thought was another threshold I had to overcome was a bug due to the foreign currency, or a new process that was not previously documented that should require further instructions.
If you are outside of the US, or have money in foreign currency, and you wish to withdraw funds to you bank, but seem to be having difficulty doing so, it could be because paypal wants you to first convert them to your local currency.
